Laser therapy can help dramatically improve the contour of the skin and the production of collagen within atrophic acne scars. There are different types of laser therapy that connect to resurface to scan using fractional laser, reduce redness and discoloration resulting from postinflammatory hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema. Non ablative lasers can also be used including the Vbeam laser and YAG laser to help resurface the skin and reduce inflammation. It is imperative that lasers be used along side topical acne treatments to reduce the onset of cystic acne during your therapy.

 

RF treatments are an excellent modality for the treatment of deep acne scars in patients with darker skin complexion's and a history of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.
